When M.D.C was founded in Austin in 1979, they initially called themselves The Stains and played their first concert under this name in their hometown in April 1980. At the time, they were one of the first hardcore punk bands in the city. In 1981, they released their first single independently. When the band moved to San Francisco in 1982 (where, unlike Austin, there was a very lively music scene), they renamed themselves MDC. In the USA, the abbreviation MDC is particularly well known for the Metropolitan Detention Centre, a series of local detention centres where mainly remand prisoners are held. Dave Dictor, the creative mind behind MDC, stands for decades of uncompromising anarcho-punk right in your face!

This is going to be an epic night of punk as the guys make a much welcome return.
